New Zealand Nature & Wildlife ToursNew Zealand is home to a large array of unique native flora and fauna which are highlighted on our guided eco-tours. Our knowledgeable and experienced guides will take you to special places where rare and sometimes endangered creatures can be observed in their natural environments. Our tours feature marine and bush habitats, including wetlands, coastal waters, lonely beaches, tidal estuaries, predator-free offshore island sanctuaries, rainforests, beech and kauri forests, native bush reserves, and areas where revegetation projects are now underway as part of conservation programmes. You will experience at first hand flora and fauna found nowhere else in the world. You will have opportunities to appreciate kauri, totara, rimu, matai and kahikatea as you walk in forested areas, and may be introduced to unique creatures such as the tuatara, giant weta, New Zealand long-tailed bat, as well as distinctive native birds like the flightless kiwi, takahe and kakapo, native thrushes and wrens. Opportunities to encounter unique marine life such as Hooker's sea lions, Hector's dolphins, fur seals and native penguins are also offered. Catlins EcotoursThis is one of New Zealand's outstanding forest and marine wildlife areas and our ecotours emphasise rare wildlife viewing and nature education. Rare wildlife seen includes Hooker's sealions and yellow eyed penguins and at times yellow head, fernbird, Hector's dolphins and elephant seals. Catlins Traverse Guided WalkThe Catlins Traverse beech to beach walk is a two day 30km guided walk through Catlins Forest Park beech forest and over private land which provides a variety of great views, historic features and rare wildlife. You will be contributing to conservation of wildlife on every tour. We make wildlife observations and every guest contributes to the Department of Conservation through our concession payments. The work break programme involves specific projects for penguins, plant and history conservation as well as educational workshops.
