ITINERARY:

This truly magic wildlife adventure leaves 1.5 hours before sunrise.

Meeting point with guides will be advised depending on your accommodation.

Travel onto the Otago Peninsula and then a 40 minute walk to a lonely beach to observe the world's rarest penguins, the Yellow Eyed Penguin, leave their nesting area and head over the beach to spend their day at sea. After this return to Nisbet House part way on the peninsula for a relaxed and hearty breakfast before continuing on.

11.00am: Set off again with your nature guide for exploration of Otago Peninsula. Depending on the tide and season we will see a variety of birds e.g. pied stilt, white faced heron, oyster catchers, spoonbills and arctic waders. Spend time at the Marine Studies Centre for a tailored program and guided informative tour. Further along the Otago Peninsula, at Taiaroa Head, is the only mainland breeding colony of Royal Albatross. Join a one our guided tour of the albatross colony and then enjoy viewing albatrosses in flight on a one-hour harbour cruise.

6.00pm: Arrive back at Nisbet House (BL)
