New Zealand Canoeing Adventures

Graded difficulty=3Graded difficulty=4 Upper Mohaka Raft

This trip is a celebration of all that adventure stands for ... from the moment the helicopter drops you on the river bank you will experience some of the best introductory wilderness canoeing and rafting in New Zealand. The Mohaka River which has its source in the Kaimanawa Ranges, offers breath-taking sub-alpine scenery, crystal clear waters, pristine native forests. Providing just the right amount of excitement and challenge, its range of rapids are from grade 1 to 3. If you want action, adventure, exploring, hot pools, helicopter rides and evenings around the campfire, this is for you. This trip is an adventure and a truly unforgettable holiday. Designed to be refreshing, not a tough expedition, there is still time for walks, swimming, fishing or just relaxing.

Graded difficulty=2 Whanganui National Park Canoe

The Whanganui River and the surrounding Whanganui National Park provide a magical setting in a pristine land for a small group of kindred spirits.

On this holiday you will canoe 87 kilometres over five days. No previous experience is necessary and groups include people of all ages. Escape, recharge your batteries and test your abilities in the peace and quiet of one of New Zealand's most historic rivers. Not only a canoeing trip, you will also have the opportunity to walk within the National Park and see many areas that are otherwise inaccessible. The Whanganui River provides a unique experience, mile after mile of uninterrupted bush, and quiet tranquil gorges, in a rich historical setting. Imagine camping on the river bank each evening, enjoying wholesome meals especially prepared for you and being taken to very special places such as The Bridge to Nowhere and the historic Pipiriki settlement by your experienced guides.
